Honours for Ewa Strusińska and Florian Csizmadia
Last weekend, following a concert with the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra in Stalowa Wola, Polish-British conductor Ewa Strusińska received the Honorary Distinction „Merit for Polish Culture“ from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for her contribution to the creation, promotion and protection of culture. The decoration was presented by the First Deputy Governor of the Podkarpackie Region, Mr. Wiesław Buż.
Just a few days earlier, Florian Csizmadia, General Music Director of the Vorpommern Philharmonic Orchestra, received the Elgar Society’s “Elgar Medal” from Honorary Secretary David Morris for his consistent dedication to the work of Edward Elgar in Germany, both on the concert stage and within German musicology. The medal was presented in Stralsund after a wonderful performance of Elgar’s Violin Concerto with Michail Barenboim.
Congratulations!
